La cérémonie d'ouverture du forum d'affaires des BRICS 2017 regroupant les cinq plus grandes économies émergentes de la planète (Afrique du Sud, Brésil, Chine, Inde et Russie), a eu lieu, hier, au Centre international des conférences et expositions de Chine à Xiamen, dans la province du Fujian. Ce sommet d'affaires est élargi aux nouvelles puissances économiques ou économies à forts potentiels.
Les chefs d'Etat des BRICS, réunis jusqu'à demain mardi, sont rejoints par ceux de la Thaïlande, du Mexique, de l'Égypte, de la Guinée-Conakry et du Tadjikistan en tant que pays observateurs. Afin de discuter d'un plan "BRICS Plus" prévoyant l'élargissement éventuel du bloc à d'autres économies.
Le chef d'Etat Xi Jinping a prononcé un plaidoyer en faveur du libre-échange et d'une économie mondiale ouverte, hier, lors d'une rencontre avec des entreprises qui marquait l'ouverture du sommet des BRICS.
«Nous devons œuvrer en faveur d'une économie mondiale ouverte, promouvoir le libre-échange et faciliter les échanges de marchandises », a déclaré M. Jinping devant un parterre de chefs d'entreprises et de représentants des BRICS, appelant les cinq pays à créer ensemble « une nouvelle chaîne de valeurs, afin de rééquilibrer l'économie mondiale ».
