La Société de garantie du Gabon (SGG) et l’Union gabonaise de banque (UGB) ont annoncé, le 6 mai, la signature d’une convention de garantie de portefeuille, un accord majeur destiné à renforcer le soutien financier aux petites et moyennes entreprises (PME), ainsi que des petites et moyennes industries (PMI) du Gabon.
Sous l’égide du Fonds gabonais d’investissement stratégique (FGIS), portée par Okoumé Capital, cette initiative assujettie au dispositif prudentiel édicté par la Commission bancaire de l’Afrique centrale (Cobac) vise à promouvoir l’essor économique du Gabon en facilitant l’accès au financement aux entreprises locales.
Conclue pour une durée de cinq ans, cette convention prévoit la mise à disposition d’un montant de 1 milliard de francs CFA à l’Union gabonaise de banque.
Cette enveloppe financière permettra à l'UGB d’accroître le volume des crédits accordés aux PME/PMI établies au Gabon, favorisant ainsi la croissance et l’innovation dans le tissu économique national.
"Cette signature marque un jalon crucial dans notre engagement commun en faveur du développement économique du Gabon.
En tant que piliers fondamentaux de la croissance nationale, ces PME/PMI auront désormais un accès facilité aux financements essentiels pour leur expansion, créant ainsi un environnement propice à l’investissement et au développement d’initiatives entrepreneuriales", a indiqué Alban Etho, directeur général de la Société de garantie du Gabon (SGG).
Pour Mohammed Hamlili, directeur général de l’Union gabonaise de banque, le partenariat signé avec la SGG représente un tournant significatif pour l’UGB. "Il confirme notre volonté de soutenir les PME gabonaises en leur facilitant l’accès au financement".
"Nous sommes persuadés que cette alliance favorise la croissance économique et générera des opportunités durables", a-t-il indiqué. Au 31 mars 2024, la Société de garantie du Gabon (SGG) a soutenu 127 PME/PMI, par l’émission de 6,1 milliards de francs de garantie de portefeuille signées par la SGG, dont 5,6 milliards auront permis de catalyser plus de 16 milliards de francs de financement.
